More than 1700 Abbasid gold and silver coins dating from between 219 and 656 AH are contained in this catalogue.
Additionally, a few Abbasid copper coins produced during the last years of the dynasty are included. The collections included in the catalogue are those of the Heberden Coin Room in the Ashmolean, and the Shamma Collection.
