Ashmolean Museum Oxford
Mori Shuho was a Japanese artist who lived between 1783 and 1813. He was the elder brother of Mori Sosen, a renowned painter of monkeys.
Shuho combined the traditional style of Kano painting with the newly-learned Western style of depth-perception in painting. This card features a 1799 ink and colour painting, originally on silk.
