The cover is printed on foil in five colours, embossed, then foil stamped. Its a powerfully practical notebook, with a pocket at the back for receipts and scraps, two bookmarks and a solid magnetic side flap.

Sir Herbert and Lady Ingram spent their honeymoon in Japan, where they collected hundreds of objects now in the Ashmolean’s collection. The Cloisonné casket, featured on this notebook, was bought in Kin’unken.
