Hand screen printed, this tea towel features Jacob Bobart the Elder, first Keeper of the Botanic Garden. He stands in front of the Danby gate with exotic plants at his feets and a rod of Asclepius, a symbol of healing, in his left hand. Bobart had yew trees clipped in the form of giants, kept a pet goat and put silver tags in his beard on holidays.
