These authentic Moon Rabbit Chopstick Rests are crafted in Japan from high-quality porcelain. This creamy white chopstick rest features a white rabbit, delicate flowers, and the moon against a bold red backdrop.
Traditional Japanese chopstick rests are used at most meal times in Japan to stop your chopsticks from staining or falling off the table.
The Moon Rabbit ('tsuki no usagi') is a motif inspired by mythical East Asian folklore. It is said that the dark markings on the near side of the moon look like a rabbit or hare who is pounding medicine, rice cakes or the elixir of life, depending on which culture the story is told by. The folklore surrounding the Moon Rabbit first originated in China before spreading to other Asian cultures.
