This fine reproduction miniature is of a cat sacred to the Egyptian goddess, Bast or Bastet. The worship of Bast dates from at least 4000 BC, reaching its height around 1500 BC when thousands of pilgrims poured into the temple at Bubastis to take part in the annual festival.
This Egyptian Cat is made from hand-finished resin. It is supplied in a clear box with double-sided colour information card.
