This exquisite silk twill pocket square details a beautiful recurring printed pattern based on the sketches and paintings of May Morris that are part of the Ashmolean's collection.
Printed onto the silk with the greatest of care, bringing each artwork to life. Each pocket square is made using hand finishing with luxurious rolled edges and silk twill fabric.
This product is part of the exhibition collection that accompanies In Bloom: How Plants Changed Our World, a special exhibition on display at the Ashmolean's Museum from 19 March - 16 August 2026.
May Morris (1862–1938) is recognised today as a pioneer of the Arts and Crafts movement, a leading exponent of decorative needlework and a campaigner for women artists. Despite being one of the foremost practitioners of her generation, it was design that May described as ‘the very soul and essence of beautiful embroidery’. One of the largest collections of May’s designs, from roughly sketched ideas to finished patterns, is held by the Ashmolean Museum.
