This single greeting card depicts Percy Bysshe Shelley's (1792-1822) grave, as painted by William Bell Scott, in oil on canvas, in 1873.
Shelley was buried close to the Pyramid of Caius Cestius in the Old Protestant Cemetery, Rome on 7 December 1822. The Latin epitaph partly visible in this picture was composed by Leigh Hunt.
