Perhaps the best known of Japan's famous ukiyo-e genre of art, Hiroshige's work has been embraced by art lovers since they were produced in the 18th-19th century.
He is particularly renowned for his landscape prints, which are among the most frequently reproduced of all Japanese works of art. Hiroshige's landscape prints were hugely successful both in Japan and in the West.
