This limited edition tote bag features the painting 'Immortal II', 2022 by contemporary artist Daniel Crews-Chubb.
Drawn to historic works of deities in the Ashmolean's collections, Crews-Chubb’s abstracted mixed media paintings feature his own unique creations. The genderless figures are imposing and surreal, and the artist views them as ‘not too dissimilar to Frankenstein’s monsters’. The title of the series, Immortals, also refers to the fact that throughout history humans have always ‘immortalised’ themselves, by building monuments and creating works of art.
Exclusive to the Ashmolean Museum.
