Alfred Jewel Range

Shop our range of gifts related to one of the Ashmolean's most iconic pieces, the Alfred Jewel. You'll find spectacular replicas as well as souvenir pieces, including a magnificent range of jewellery that has been created exclusively for the Ashmolean Shop by The Bill Skinner Studio. 
The Alfred Jewel is a masterpiece of goldsmith's work formed around a tear-shaped slice of rock crystal. Its inscription AELFRED MEC HEHT GEWYRCAN, Alfred ordered me to be made’, connects the jewel with King Alfred the Great (r. 871–899) making it among the most significant of royal relics.

The Hunt in the Forest

The Hunt in the Forest, a painting by Paolo Uccello, is often considered to be a masterpiece of the early Renaissance. It belongs to the last decade of Uccello's career and portrays a hunting scene with figures in contemporary dress.

Vases & Cypress Trees

A colourful range adorned with a floral pattern and inspired by a set of tiles displaying vases and cypress trees amid flowers from our collection. These tiles originate in 17th century Syria and can be viewed in our Islamic Middle East gallery on the first floor (Gallery 31). The collection has been created exclusively for the Ashmolean.
