Alice In Wonderland

Alice In Wonderland

One July afternoon, Charles Dodgson, an Oxford don, took 10-year-old Alice Liddell (born in Oxford) and her sisters on a boating picnic up the River Thames, where to amuse the children, he told them of a story about a little girl who finds herself tumbling down a rabbit hole into a topsy-turvy world called Wonderland. Alice was so delighted by the story, that she begged him to write it; and so he did, as a gift which he later presented to her. Years later the book was published under the pen name of Lewis Carroll.
