There is a very similar cittern in the Musée de la Musique in Paris, which must have been made in the same workshop. The cittern in Paris has been attributed to Girolamo Virchi of Brescia.

Part of a range of reproduction drawings from the Hill Collection of Musical Instruments, where they are used by luthiers to replicate and repair stringed instruments.
