No. 15 Violin ‘The Alard’ by Nicolò Amati Print

Print of a detailed working drawing of a Violin by Nicolò Amati 1649, from The Hill Collection of Musical Instruments No. 15. In the late nineteenth century, this violin belonged to the famous violinist Delphin Alard, who also owned ‘The Messiah’.

Nicolò Amati, hailed as the greatest of the renowned Cremonese violin makers, built upon the legacy of his grandfather Andrea Amati, known as the inventor of the modern violin. Under the guidance of his father, Girolamo, Nicolò continued to perfect and produce his renowned violins, which were sold under the Brothers Amati label beginning in 1620.

Part of a range of reproduction drawings from the Hill Collection of Musical Instruments, where they are used by luthiers to replicate and repair stringed instruments. You don't have to be a musician to appreciate these wonderful drawings which also make great wall art pieces. 

The Hill Drawings are a made to order product and take about one week to produce and post. They arrive to us pre-rolled and securely packaged in a strong cardboard tube.
